Sunset 20120224 Thoughts
As I sit watching the sunset this evening, I am filled with an unexplainable joy. I want to run and leap and yell about the greatness of My G-D and His glorious and wonderful works.
Oh my, the reddish oranges and lavender pinks that never end and look as though they are actually living and breathing, the lavenders and oranges that mix and mingle into breaks that give way to blues that only encourage the expanse of space and time - how deep and rich are these! How the wafting of such an expanse of cloud posing dark against the bright blue breaking encroachment of twilight as they dance as though they were the size of a small tuft of fine kitty fur and the sky grows ever darker as they march on steadily in their journey.
The stark and contrasting lines of the bands of wind separating and combining cloud lines now giving way to the severe differences between light horizon and darkening sky; this only blending the hope of a peaceful night with the remembered happiness of the day as tasks well completed are reminisced, and the bustle of the world dwindles down as does the dark of night coming on as if a spinning top loosing its spin, slowly, steadily, darker and darker.
Now the magnificent robustness of the just witnessed grandiose spectacle that was the setting of the sun in all its wonderful and transparently deep and rich colorfulness is still twining strings of awe around my heart, as the day ceases, as does the work and trials of the day. Now the unconventional quiet and solitude of the darkness settle in for moments of slumber in my eyes; and within my mind are the quieting embers of weekdays gone past, never to be repeated, never to be remembered, as always the spirit presses onward to the glory of the Maker of all. And, in this one small creation yet a mere mortal man yea a small man and even a small creation still the pinnacle of all creations, the wonder of his lesser created siblings in an atmosphere of shine and luminescence are forever recalled as some of the most marvelous and grand impressions of the greatness and splendor in the most unending expanse of space and time of his Source of all Creation.
Now that, my friends, is a sunset. All I can say this evening is,
"G-D, you are truly MY G-D!"
Shabbat Shalom,
Marcus
