Date: Sun, 09 Dec 2007 20:18:41 -0600 found an interesting little tidbit on the internet on how to actually get an error code when troubleshooting vista dialup: --------------------- When trying to connect with a dial-up network connection, Windows Vista does not give any indication as to why the connection had failed. Follow these steps to find out what is causing the failed connection: -Go to the Start Menu. -Go to Connect To. -Click on Setup a Connection or Network. -Select Connect to the Internet. -Select to change an existing connection. -Select the connection to troubleshoot. This will prompt to try and connect like the normal way, but if it fails it will give details on why the connection failed. To get dial-up and broadband connection errors, you have to go to: Start -> Control Panel -> Classic View -> Network and sharing center -> Manage network connections -> Right click their dial-up connection -> Connect Or instead, choose to create a shortcut (SC) and save it will save it to the desktop and have them connect via the SC.
